When our neighbors offered us as many pears as we could pick from their tree – we could not pass it up! We ended up with nearly 20 pounds of pears after our pick and wanted to make a healthy and sweet snack with them. Pears are high in vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and iron, making them a very nutritious food great for eating as they are, dehydrating, or incorporating into various recipes. In our recipe, we used a crockpot for cooking this flavorful pearsauce perfect for the fall season.

Ingredients:

  • 15 pears

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon

  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Directions:

  • Cut pears into ~ 1-inch cubes, leaving the skin on. Place chunks into crockpot.

  • Add honey, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar – stir until well mixed

  • Add cinnamon stick to top of mixture

  • Cover with lid and cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low

  • Let cool and enjoy!
