Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about StHealthy Nutrition?
Our FAQ provides answers to the most common questions we receive.
Can I take CBD/hemp products if I get drug tested?
We are allowed 0.3 wt % THC in our final products. This is like having only 3 brown M&M’s in a batch of 1,000 M&Ms total (assuming all the M&Ms are the same weight). It’s a very, very small amount. We prove our compliance through reputable analysis.
What happens in a complex system like the human body that may or may not be using other cannabis based products or what the sensitivity/specificity of a given urinalysis test may be are huge factors in the validity of urinalysis results.
There is a lot of conflicting information out there about 0% THC products as well, given that different drug tests use different antibody/antigen pairs that are sensitive to different metabolites and that CBD and THC are incredibly similar molecules. An individual may metabolize a THC free product to contain a detectable metabolite on a drug test panel…..think about people testing positive for opioids with poppy seeds or the way false positive pregnancy test results can happen via urinalysis (more rare to get false pregnancy tests via blood).
The bottom line is there is no guarantee for a given individual that they will pass a urine drug test if they use cannabis/legal hemp products.
Using legal hemp products tested by a reputable lab with THC at or below the legal limit makes it more probable that they would have a clean drug test, but there are simply no guarantees because there are too many other factors.
It is completely understandable that people are concerned about passing drug tests, particularly when it is associated with their livelihood. For people who are concerned about drug testing and legal hemp use, we encourage them to do their own research (projectcbd.org is a great site) and know that they have a right to confirm any positive urinalysis result with a blood test for employment reasons if they feel the results are in error.
There is a lot of information on the pharmacokinetics of THC/CBD out there, below is an excerpt from an NIH article on the long half life of THC and how metabolites vs. parent drugs are detected:
What is CBD and Full Spectrum Hemp?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring, non-intoxicating molecule found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Full spectrum hemp includes CBD, other minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and less than .3% THC. Full spectrum reflects more of the whole plant of which can have beneficial benefits.
Broad spectrum hemp has no detectable THC, and is high the in mainly CBD and some other minor cannabinoids. This is a good option for those who do it want or are sensitive to THC.
Will CBD help me with my health concern or conditions?
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Will consuming 0.3 wt% THC cause intoxication or being “high”?
No. The concentration of THC in our products does not contain enough of the psychoactive molecule to produce an intoxicating effect or dysphoria whatsoever. Our products are formulated for daily support and wellness of the endocannabinoid system, not for recreational purposes.
Is Full Spectrum Hemp/CBD safe to consume?
The World Health Organization published a report in (June 2018 https://www.who.int/medicines/access/controlledsubstances/CannabidiolCriticalReview.pdf) that CBD exhibits no effects indicative of abuse or dependence potential.
Do I need a medical marijuana card to purchase or use Full Spectrum Hemp/CBD?
No. StHealthy Nutrition CBD products are derived from legal hemp. The legal definition of hemp means the product contains less than 0.3 % wt THC.
Are CBD products legal in all 50 US States?
Yes and No. As long as the product meets the definition of legal hemp (less than 0.3 wt% THC), StHealthy Nutrition CBD products are considered personal care products and can be shipped legally to all 50 states. However if you live in Idaho, Iowa, or North Dakota you should review the laws and how having CBD on your person may be in offense of current state law.
How is StHealthy Nutrition CBD / Hemp extracted?
What kind of laboratory testing is performed on StHealthy Nutrition CBD products and what is the Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
The manufacturer of StHealthy Nutrition CBD /Hemp products test the raw hemp oil which is the best place for anything like pesticides or heavy metals to be present in their potential highest concentration–you want to test the raw crude as the “worst case” scenario. They test the products for 66 pesticides, mycotoxins, 20 residual solvents, heavy metals and utilizing high sensitivity PCR and flouroesscence detection for microbiological impurities.
This comprehensive level of analytical testing brings us added assurance that we are manufacturing with high quality ingredients. We are totally stoked to share this information with you!
Will Full Spectrum Hemp interact with my other medications?
At our daily recommended doses, it is unlikely that significant drug interactions will occur. There is some evidence however, that cannibadiols can inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450, which helps us to metabolize other drugs. The evidence shows this is dose dependent and related to higher dosing. Consider taking any Full Spectrum Hemp product away other medications and as with any product, always consult your primary health practitioner prior to use or with your specific questions.
