Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about StHealthy Nutrition?
Our FAQ provides answers to the most common questions we receive.
Can I take CBD/hemp products if I get drug tested?
We are allowed 0.3 wt % THC in our final products. This is like having only 3 brown M&M’s in a batch of 1,000 M&Ms total (assuming all the M&Ms are the same weight). It’s a very, very small amount. We prove our compliance through reputable analysis.
What happens in a complex system like the human body that may or may not be using other cannabis based products or what the sensitivity/specificity of a given urinalysis test may be are huge factors in the validity of urinalysis results.
There is a lot of conflicting information out there about 0% THC products as well, given that different drug tests use different antibody/antigen pairs that are sensitive to different metabolites and that CBD and THC are incredibly similar molecules. An individual may metabolize a THC free product to contain a detectable metabolite on a drug test panel…..think about people testing positive for opioids with poppy seeds or the way false positive pregnancy test results can happen via urinalysis (more rare to get false pregnancy tests via blood).
The bottom line is there is no guarantee for a given individual that they will pass a urine drug test if they use cannabis/legal hemp products.
Using legal hemp products tested by a reputable lab with THC at or below the legal limit makes it more probable that they would have a clean drug test, but there are simply no guarantees because there are too many other factors.
It is completely understandable that people are concerned about passing drug tests, particularly when it is associated with their livelihood. For people who are concerned about drug testing and legal hemp use, we encourage them to do their own research (projectcbd.org is a great site) and know that they have a right to confirm any positive urinalysis result with a blood test for employment reasons if they feel the results are in error.
There is a lot of information on the pharmacokinetics of THC/CBD out there, below is an excerpt from an NIH article on the long half life of THC and how metabolites vs. parent drugs are detected:
What is CBD and Full Spectrum Hemp?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring, non-intoxicating molecule found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Full spectrum hemp includes CBD, other minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and less than .3% THC. Full spectrum reflects more of the whole plant of which can have beneficial benefits.
Broad spectrum hemp has no detectable THC, and is high the in mainly CBD and some other minor cannabinoids. This is a good option for those who do it want or are sensitive to THC.

Will Full Spectrum Hemp interact with my other medications?
At our daily recommended doses, it is unlikely that significant drug interactions will occur. There is some evidence however, that cannibadiols can inhibit the activity of cytochrome P450, which helps us to metabolize other drugs. The evidence shows this is dose dependent and related to higher dosing. Consider taking any Full Spectrum Hemp product away other medications and as with any product, always consult your primary health practitioner prior to use or with your specific questions.
